Frequently Asked Questions

Head shots FAQs

What should I wear?

You want to wear something which you love and feel comfortable in. For ladies, you need to apply the same amount of make-up you would on any other day.

How long will the shoot take?

Depending on which package you choose the shoot shouldn’t take longer than one hour to 90 minutes. Please give yourself adequate time before so you don’t arrive feeling flustered.

I hate having my photo taken! How will you get around this?

Don’t worry! You’re not alone feeling this way. I will spend time with you before my camera comes out of my bag and get to know you with a nice cup of tea or if you’d like a large G&T!

How much retouching do you do on the images?

Very little. I don’t believe that excessive use of photoshop will enhance your images at all. I use basic retouching such as adjusting the exposure, contrast and colour balance. If you would like some cosmetic retouching doing this can be arranged at an additional cost.

I’m looking something different than what you have advertised in your packages?

That’s very interesting to hear! I’d love to tailor something bespoke for you. Get in touch and we can discuss this in more detail.

I’m still on the fence about working with you or not. I need further convincing.

Not a problem. Please have a look at my testimonials page for feedback my clients have given me.

Personal Branding Photography FAQs

Is everything included in the cost?

Yes! I’ll make sure that we have refreshments that suit you whenever we meet and during the shoot, and the price includes everything from planning and the shoot itself, plus editing, selection, digital delivery of the images.

How much time will the process take?

This depends on which package you choose. For example, if you chose the Lifestyle personal branding shoot I would ask you to commit at least half a day for the shoot, plus two to three hours for your wardrobe edit and another four hours to cover all our communications, planning and meetings. This process is best planned over a period of three weeks so we have the chance to get to know each other before the shoot, which means you’ll get the most out of it.

How do you choose the locations to shoot?

As part of our planning, we’ll discuss what you want from the images and pick the locations together. You might come to me with ideas of where you’d like to shoot and that’s great! If you don’t have ideas, or if, when we discuss locations, we need some more options, I know all sorts of hidden gems Cambridge has to offer as I’ve lived here for over 15 years.

I’m also able to scout locations outside of Cambridge with enough notice given.

Who provides your hair/makeup and personal styling?

I work with local Cambridge independent professionals and small businesses, including Cat Sawbridge personal stylist and Finn Jordan hair and makeup

How long do you keep the images after a shoot?

I keep the images backed up using cloud storage and hard drive backups, so if you ever mislay the images in the future you can ask me for another set of digital copies for free!

Are you insured?

Yes! I am have public liability and professional indemnity cover. If you’d like to see a copy of my insurance documents just ask.

How do you deliver the images?

Once your images are ready I use a private online gallery which I’ll send you the link too. You’ll be able to download all the images you love, in a range of resolutions suitable for online and print use, and they’ll instantly be ready for you to use.

Is there the option of a payment plan?

Yes. This is an investment for your brand so when you book you’ll pay a deposit to secure your booking. You then can pay the remainder of the balance over two consecutive months.

How do I know I can trust you to deliver what I want?

I’m a big believer in clear and uncomplicated communication and I pride myself on being positive and personable. In the unlikely situation that something did go wrong I’ll always admit my mistakes and try to come to a resolution with you. I have a wealth of testimonials from satisfied customers and I make a point to get to know you and your brand well before the shoot begins.

What If I need to reschedule?

If you need to reschedule please let me know 48 hours beforehand and the same goes for me if anything were to come up.

When will I get my photos?

Once I’ve received your final payment I’ll provide you with a link to your online gallery where you’ll be able to download the images you love.

Do I own the copyright of the images?

As I’m the creator of all the images I make I own the copyright to that image. As I know you want to use these images the best way is for me to provide you with an unlimited licence of use which is included in the cost of your shoot. If you have any questions or concerns about this please contact me.

Can I buy prints?

Yes. You’ll have the option to buy prints and download your images from your online gallery.

How many images will I get?

Depending on the package you choose it will range between, 10, 20 and 40, but if you fall in love with more you’ll be able to purchase the digital files at £50 per image. If you want to buy lots of extra images I will do a discount for five or more.
